ARNICA
Arnica Montana, a plant native to mountainous areas of Europe and North America, has been used for centuries to treat a variety of pain. Arnica works by stimulating the activity of white blood cells responsible for the digestion of congested blood, and by moving trapped fluids from bruised tissue, joints, and muscle. Several published studies have shown the benefits of Arnica in treating osteoarthritis with significant reductions in pain and stiffness.
MENTHOL
Menthol creates a sensation that overrides pain signals to the brain. This process is known as the ‘Gate Control Theory’, where nerve impulses from one stimulus block the nerves containing pain signals to the brain. Recent research also suggests that menthol may stimulate cold receptors in the skin that may help regulate pain as well. This is known as ‘cold therapy,’ or cryotherapy. Cryotherapy is the application of cold to temporarily relieve pain. The most common form of cryotherapy is ice. AcuPlus produces the same sensation of cold that accompanies icing but without the pain and numbness sometimes associated with ice. Best of all, AcuPlus products allow you to remain active during treatment.
MSM
MSM or methylsulfonylmethane, is an organic form of sulfur. It has the remarkable ability to restore flexibility and permeability to cell walls, allowing fluids to pass through tissues with ease so medication can absorb more easily. It is also a powerful detoxifier moving lactic acid and toxins out of cells helping equalize pressure in muscles and joints. It’s even used on racehorses before and after a race to prevent soreness and reduce the risk of cramping.
BOSWELLIA SERRATA
Boswellia Serrata is an all natural extract from a tree grown in dry, mountainous regions in India, Northern Africa, and the Middle East. It has been found to be so effective at reducing inflammation that it’s even being deemed as a promising alternative to prescription anti-inflammatories. There are several double blind, placebo-controlled, randomized studies showing both clinical and statistical significant improvements in pain and function in people with arthritis.
GLUCOSAMINE
Glucosamine is an all natural compound found in your body that helps keep up the health of your cartilage. As we age levels of this compound drop and there are studies suggesting the use of glucosamine can help counteract this effect. The natural anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties of glucosamine are frequently used by people trying to relieve bone and joint pain.
MAGNESIUM
Transdermal magnesium is one of the most popular and fast-acting ways to get the benefits of magnesium. Topical magnesium has been used for centuries as a treatment for sore muscles, pain, cramping, and Restless Leg Syndrome. In addition to these pain relieving properties additional documented benefits from magnesium include better sleep and relief from stress.
VITAMIN B-6
Vitamin B6, also called pyridoxine, is involved in the process of making serotonin and norepinephrine, which are chemicals that transmit signals to the brain. Vitamin B6 is also involved in the formation of myelin, a protein layer that forms around nerve cells. Vitamin B6 is commonly used to help prevent and treat nerve inflammation.
WILLOW BARK
Willow Bark’s pain relieving potential has been recognized throughout history going back to the time of Hippocrates. The active ingredient in the medicine made from willow bark is called salicin. Willow bark is often used as an alternative to aspirin, particularly those that experience muscle pain or pain related to arthritis.
ALOE VERA
Aloe vera is considered to be the most biologically active of the aloe species and contains the antioxidant vitamins A, C, B12, folic acid, and choline. Aloe vera’s amazing number of vitamins and minerals have been shown to help reduce inflammation and fight free radical damage. It is also well known for its ability to protect and hydrate the skin.
ILEX
Ilex, an herbal extract from a South American holly shrub, has been employed for centuries as an herbal remedy. The primary active ingredient in holly is caffeine which helps promote circulation. Ilex was used traditionally by Paraguayan Indians to enhance the effectiveness of their medicines, and today is incorporated into various preparations worldwide to enhance health and wellness.
VITAMIN E
Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, helping protect the body from free radicals, which are compounds that can damage the body. Several studies suggest that Vitamin E may be helpful in pain management for several conditions, including nerve pain.
LICORICE ROOT
Licorice Root has been used for centuries by the Egyptians, Chinese, Greek and many other nations in Asia as a natural muscle relaxer and topical anti-inflammatory as it acts similar to hydrocortisone. It’s anti-inflammatory benefits have also been used as a natural remedy for joint pain and tendonitis.
CMO
CMO or Cetyl myristoleate is a natural fatty acid. CMO was initially isolated in studies performed at the National Institutes of Health when it was found that high concentrations of CMO protected subjects from developing experimentally-induced arthritis. CM is frequently used in oral and topical applications to help relieve joint pain and reduce further joint damage thought to be caused by inflammation.
ACUPLUS MANUFACTURING PROCESS
AcuPlus is manufactured in small batches at a state of the art 90,000 square foot UL-Certified, FDA-Certified, and QAI-certified organic facility. Every batch of AcuPlus is manufactured with the purest of ingredients and latest technological advances.
During the manufacturing process each batch is rigorously inspected by qualified chemists and a highly trained product supervisor before it is put on a packaging line. Then each batch is sent to independent laboratories to further assay and confirm the strength of active ingredients and lack of microbiological content per FDA guidelines. After being tested in a manner to exceed all regulatory compliance, it is routinely inspected during the manufacturing and packaging procedure before shipping. This guarantees both consistency of the cream, as well as consistency of fill weights and packaging components.
